On July 4, 2025 more than 14 inches of rain accumulated in San Angelo and surrounding areas resulting in devastating flooding across the Concho Valley. More than 1,900 homes were affected, damaged or destroyd by the flood waters bringing together local organizations, agencies, and community partners to meet urgent needs during a time of crisis. In the days and weeks following the flood, partners worked to identify impacted households, coordinate supplies, support cleanup efforts, and connect residents with available assistance. While the immediate response addressed urgent safety and relief needs, recovery from a flood continues long after the water receded.
Ongoing efforts focus on identifying unmet needs, helping families navigate available resources, and working with partner organizations to address repairs, rebuilding, household stabilization, and emotional recovery. This work requires patience, communication, and collaboration, as each household and community may experience recovery differently.
